Ofra Zimbalista
Curatorial Consulting: Hadas Maor

The exhibition “Blind, Bound, Bowed, Naked“ offers a new and contemporary perspective on the work of Ofra Zimbalista, focusing on pieces that engage with existential questions, aspects of human suffering, and states of unresolved tension.
At the center of the exhibition, in the gallery’s inner courtyard, the monumental work “Game” (1994) is presented. This installation was first shown in the Tel Hai 94 exhibition (curator: Gideon Ofrat), as part of a tent encampment that critically addressed the First Lebanon War. In light of the recent period, the most difficult in the country’s history, the work takes on renewed meaning, charged and unsettling.
In the two exhibition spaces surrounding the courtyard, additional works by Zimbalista are displayed, each encapsulating a different existential question. These range from physical questions of gravity to existential, earthly, and spiritual inquiries concerning life, death, and purification.
The exhibition’s title is drawn from the Jewish morning blessings, recited daily as an expression of gratitude for renewed life. In the context of the exhibition, the phrase reflects the lowliness of the human condition and the need for compassion, reconciliation, and repair

The third exhibition from Ofra Zimbalista's collection. A fresh perspective on works that carry existential questions — from physical gravity to life, death, and purification.
